Oliver Grau is currently working for Intel in Germany as operational director of the Intel Visual Computing Institute. His role includes defining and implementation of Intel-funded research projects executed by academical partners and alignment of these with Intel's business needs. Previously he worked as a Lead Technologist for BBC R&D in London, UK on computer vision projects for innovative media production systems.
He has long experience leading inter-disciplinary collaborative projects on national and international level involving academia and industrial players. His dedication is pushing technological boundaries by applying new research to real applications.
Oliver has a strong research profile with more than 70 scientific publications and more than 10 patents. He is a recognized expert on computer vision and visual computing in the research community and served on many scientific program committees, is a member of the ACM Europe Council and a visiting professor of Surrey University, UK.
