The Myth of the 'Stone heaven'
Reichelt 1913 [reichelt1913] discussed the Mythos of the 'stone heaven'. He found traces of the old myth in Latvia, Iceland to Perisa and India. The core of the myth is ([Mahlstedt2004], p. 66): “There was darkness at the beginning. Then a giantic hero was born as son of the stone heaven and Earth. He smashed the stone heaven with a stone hammer to pave the way for the light and water down to Earth.”
